Families who are transported out of town for a medical emergency are also burdened with the financial cost of having to travel for medical checkups. Akira's family understand the stress of having to pay for a motel and transportation to and from Seattle every three months for checkups therefore, if you or someone you know needs assistance for an out of town medical appointment then please contact us and we will do everything possible to provide you with a gas voucher/bus ticket. We will also provide an overnight stay in a motel because we understand how hard it could be to drive such a distance without having the ability to stay overnight. These times are extremely stressful and can cause a financial burden on families so we want to do what we can to support these families in their long journey to recovery.
Offer vouchers/discounts to motels close to the hospital until we can open Akira's House. Also, qualified individuals will receive shelter for out of town medical check-up. If you are in a crisis please contact the hospital social worker.
